Pet Peeve

Dressing dogs up for fun on a regular basis....this drives me nuts!  Sorry if I'm offending anyone, but  dogs are DOGS, not babies or kids.  Sure, a raincoat or a sweater to protect your pup from weather conditions is perfectly acceptable.  A Halloween costume or dress up for a photo op doesn't bother me in the least either.  I do that myself!  But it's the poor little dogs I see all decked out in dresses and tiaras on a daily basis that really get to me.  I venture to say that NO dog enjoys this.  So please, think twice before strapping your dog into a tutu to go for a walk.

Hey!  Let dogs be dogs!  We're great the way we are!

  2. I thinks it's us furry doggies that don't like it! BOL! Not even that Thunder Shirt does anythings for me! (except annoy me...)
Butts, i do know some doggies that DO like it. I gots a furiend that makes 'dresses' for her pooch because she has skin allergies and needs protection from the sun and other elements. If you were to see them on the street, you might think it was all for cuteness, butts she needs the dresses for protection. So sometimes there is more to the story. So I try not to judge too much. I'm just lucky Ma's too lazy to puts anything on me! BOL

    1. Oh sure, yes! I mentioned that...boots, jackets, sweaters etc to protect from weather I understand. I have met people who dress up their dogs just for themselves and what they think is cute. That I don't care for.

  3. I like it to go nekked... I only wear a coat when it is bitter cold outside... think it wouldn't work to dress me up, I would wreck efurrything :o)

  4. I agree completely. Also, little dogs are not some kind of fashion accessory. My chihuahuas have a coat for winter and sweater for when it's cooler. That's it.

  5. Pawsonally I look great naked and prefer to stay that way. BUTT mom used to have a dog who was always cold and loved wearing sweaters. Our friend who is a therapist has a client with a male dog and she dresses it in dresses and tells everyone he is a cross dressing therapy dog.
