Guest Blog Post...Me!

~This is a little strange, but I am my first guest blogger here on Murray's Mouth.  I recently started a second blog about my life as an almost 40 year old living in rural upstate New York.  My first opening post is below.  For anyone interested in following or reading more, the address is ...Please don't feel obligated to follow it, it may be of no interest to you, just thought I'd share.  Please feel free to share with anyone that might be interested too!  Thanks!

Almost forty...yep!  Two years to go and I fully expect age 39 and 40 to be tough for me.  Living in Fulton County...yep!  Not exactly the most hip and happening place in the world.  Trying to make the best of both the age thing and the location thing.  This is why the title made such sense to me.  I have been blogging about my love, dogs, for about seven months now and I have discovered I love to blog!  I don't expect anyone to want to read what I write, but I enjoy it whether 1000 people read it or if my eyes are the only ones to ever see it.  I have decided it's my version of scrapbooking.  I have always loved looking at my crafty friends' scrapbooks, but any attempt of my own to start one was ridiculously frustrating.  It just came down to the fact that I hated cutting, folding, stamping, gluing (and every other damn thing people did to that paper)...all for the presentation of ONE FREAKIN PHOTO!!!  I just don't get it, it's not my thing.  Beautiful, yes, but not for me.  Blogging is though!  I love the thought that this will be like a regular journal for me that I can look back on and enjoy the memories as time goes by.  Yes, blogging is much more public than scrapbooking, but I am not an overly private person.  Of course I keep some things private, but if you know me well, I am pretty much an open book.  So, in a nutshell, this will be my place to share my thoughts, happenings, friends and life!  My dogs are sure to appear...they  make up a huge part of my life, but I will try to keep most of their stuff to my other blog.  Can't wait to get this rolling and make some fun memories!

PS...Weird..even though I share photos on Facebook without a problem, I am finding it difficult to choose one to start here.  Ugh, anxiety.  I will stick with this.

  1. Mom is turning 35 and feels alittle old, but 40 is not old! Also our mom wishes she lived in the country and not the city, hip or not.

  2. You are only as old as you feel. as the saying goes. Feel young, stay young. Have a super Sunday. We will pop over to your new blog.
    Best wishes Molly

  3. I went into a major depression when I had my 40th but somehow managed to live through it, LOL.

  4. Looking forward to reading it!

  5. Very interesting. My mom is 56 so she said you are still a pup. But at some point she said humans try to come to terms with their own aging. Us dogs do not worry about those things. Mom's advice to you (as a young pup) is to not just give into aging and to fight it with everything you have. She said that when people give into the concept of "this is just how it is when you get old" that such a mindset actually makes them even older! Mom says good luck on getting older cuz it ain't for wimps. However, it is a privilege that is not afforded to all living beings.

    Keep Calm & Bark On!

  6. I remember turning 40, and now they say that 40 is the new 30, so you're still young! :-)

I love blogging too, and feel much of the the same way you do--What's that they say about 'birds of a feather?' :-)!

  7. Woof! Woof! My mom can totally relate ... Her age actually stopped at 38. Good thing not many believe how old she is. Will visit the site as we are interested in knowing more about rural life (as we experience here in Hi). YES, blog for FUN! Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar

  8. :-D What a fun new blog, have a great time writing it! We think of blogging as scrap booking as well (except that we can't understand those crazies sitting around their living room cutting, folding, and designing)! Oh man, Domeek totally understands your 40 in suburbia, she's turning 30 in March and moved from crazy city to suburbia last year. Fun and challenging times! ;-)

  9. Congratulations & best wishes for your new blog - mom will be over to check it out!

  11. Mummy has decided to start ageing backwards like Benjamin Button BOL

  12. Meh! Still in your 30s?! You're just a baby still! Lucky you! Oh, how I would love to have my 30 something athleticism back since I didn't discover agility until my forties...and now I'm in my 50's!

  13. Best of luck on your new blog adventure. I hope you still find enough time to blog here, too. :)

  14. Age is only a number, it's attitude that's important.
