Recently, in my local area, there have been several cases of pet stealing taking place, right from someone's yard.  Sadly, some of these pets have been found harmed and killed.  I can't understand why someone would do this to a harmless, defenseless animal.  I also think of all the misplaced and lost pets due to Hurricane Sandy... and this all has made me feel I should put a reminder out there to encourage people to have their pets wear the proper tags, or better yet, have them chipped!  Here is a short informational video I hope helps you see this is an easy, extra bit of security that you can give yourself and your pet.

  1. We agree, microchipping is a great idea!

  2. We all have our chips.

So sorry for the pets who are stolen from their own yards. That's sick.

  3. Here Here Murray!! Tags and micro chips are definitely the way to go! I'm sorry to hear that pups and kitties are being hurt near you though! Boo to the bad humans! :-/

  4. We have both! We hope the bad people are caught and bad things happen to them!

  6. That is just awful. We are there with Urban Hounds. Chipped and luckily never alone. We hope they find those responsible and put a stop to it. Have a marvelous Monday.
    Best wishes Molly

  7. Yes! Yes! Yes!

    Your pals,

    Murphy & Stanley

  8. I agree, microchipping is very important indeed! I was michrochipped at the shelter before my family got me :)

  9. What a good favor you are doing lots of families, Murray!

  12. That's so sad to read...Here we have a law that all pets (dogs/cats) must been chipped.

  13. That's just awful. I hope they catch them soon and give the harshest penalty they can!!

  14. There are some really awful people out there! both Fred and Gloria are micro chipped. :)

  15. Thank you for posting this, you are very wise.

  16. A perfect reminder!!!!

I can and never will understand why or how someone would harm a defenseless animal--It's so, so sad and heartbreaking--There's a special 'place' for people like this I think.... But you're right about micro-chipping. My time on the board of directors of the rescue taught me that, as well remembering to make sure the information stays up to date.

  17. Pup napping! That is horrible!

    We are both chipped.

  18. Some people in this world, shouldn't be here..How could you hurt an animal.. we are both all chipped and have collars wiff our address on :) xx00xx

    Mollie and Alfie

  19. Good advice, Murray!! I would like to bite those bad people.

  20. It is still just shocking to me that anyone could even think about hurting a dog. I usually wait till I have my dogs spayed or neutered to have them microchipped during the procedure. But reading this makes me think about doing it before that.

  21. Dear Murray,

So horrifying to read of the pets in your area. What is the matter with people? I do hope they find those responsible and the rest of the local animals remain safe. A Christmas Wish would be for such things to end forever.

Wanted to stop by to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas filled with much love, happiness, and good cheer! We are very glad to have met you this year and we enjoy stopping by your blog and seeing your lovely smile.

May the spirit of Christmas bless you and yours throughout the year.

    1. Thank you so much! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Your angel Suka was surely with you

  22. We agree. I'm always amazed when I look thru Craigslist how many excuses there are for why the dog wasn't wearing its collar.
