It's a Good Day in New York State!

Thank You Governor Andrew Cuomo!
You'll find the link HERE that explains the bill Governor Andrew Cuomo signed today to help animals in New York State.  It couldn't have come at a better time.  In the news this week, where I live, animal lovers just fought a hard battle to save a large number of dogs from the poor, poor conditions they were living in at a so called "puppy farm".  These dogs (and puppies) were residing outside only with plastic barrels as shelter, even through our latest cold snap when it got to be 25 below zero with windchill.  When law enforcement visited after receiving tips, THEY even deemed this acceptable.  DISGUSTING!  Luckily a judge got involved and A LOT of caring individuals, and the owner surrendered the adult dogs and was ordered to bring the puppies inside.  I hate to think of how many more cases like this exist...or worse!  I am proud of my state today.  This is a step in the right direction for protecting our precious animals.

Thank You!

  2. Wonderful!! I also heard the city of St. Louis was fining dog owners who left their dogs outside during the cold snap. Excellent precedents they are setting.

  3. Well done to all that made it happen. These people who treat animals so badly need to be stopped. Have a super Saturday.

  4. Great first steps! I live in a province that is known for horrible puppy mills. 2 years ago a bust freed over 500 dogs from horrible conditions. Due to pregnancy, there were over 600 dogs who needed homes. Our cousin Emma is one of them . . . . We know it is going to take a lot of time to fix all the laws to make dogs and cats safer, but every step brings us closer!

  8. Yea!! Nice going NY!! Gov. Arnie vetoed a law that would ban puppy mills..douche.
Butts, cities and counties have taken it on themselves to do what fancy pants refused to do...we have a ban some laws protecting pups and kittehs. I hopes NY spreads across the country!!
